Conventional incandescent lighting has served us well for many years. That technology is now rapidly becoming outdated in favor of light emitting diodes (LEDs). LED downlights are strongly contributing to that trend. They are being used indoors and outdoors in some of the most demanding environments known to man. For example, they are increasingly specified for use on recreational and commercial vessels, even externally on masts and decks.

It is not until a freakish year comes, that I really appreciate the reliability of wildlings in my garden. This summer was notable for frosts, which came often and unexpectedly, sometimes very suddenly, on the heels of very warm days. The results were very bad on all too many of the tame plants in my garden, and very disappointing.
