The Health of the Environment

The word environment can refer to as small a space as the house in which you live all the way up to the entire world around you. This latter, which is referred to as the natural environment, is of major concern to everyone these days. This is primarily because it has not been for quite some time.

There is a phrase that is often quoted about visiting spaces in nature. It goes that we should take only photographs and leave only our footprints. But this is not the way we have treated our planet for some time. Though the Native Americans once acted in a way that considered the effect for seven generations, this has not been the case with cultures for many many years.

For good or for ill, we affect the environment with everything that we put into it. All products that people use will be part of the environment in one way or another. For example, whatever is sprayed into the air becomes part of it. You may have noticed that respiratory illnesses such as asthma are on the rise everywhere.

All chemicals that we use, such as cleaning products, will find their ways into the water and the earth. And once they find their way into those, they will find their way into our food supply and therefore into us. This has been a repetitive cycle over recent years. Several other health issues are on the rise, including cancers.

When scientists first starting talking about the concept of global warming, it stirred a great deal of controversy. Now, however, it is being accepted more and more widely as being real. More scientists, as well as many leaders in the world, are giving this its due concern.

Individuals are also gaining greater awareness of environmental issues. Part of this is a concern for what can be done by each of us to keep those issues from worsening.

One thing we can do as individuals is to start replacing toxic products with natural ones, such as our cleaners. These will be better for our personal health, as it will reduce the toxins in our home environment. It wills also reduce the toxins in our natural environment, to the benefit of all.

Reduction in the use of fossil fuels can help to reduce pollution as well. One way to do this is to switch to solar power which is not just environmentally smart. After the initial investment, solar power will also help save money.

Reducing waste products is also a huge help and can save you money too. For example, investing in a water filter will allow you to fill your own bottles rather than putting a lot of plastic in the garbage.

Changing from a consumption driven society will not happen immediately. But doing so will save us money and save the environment at the same time. And we will all be safer and healthier as a result.

Please Go Green!

Recently there are many articles about the idea of ‘going green’. I remember one day I read an article about the concept of going green, that means, be more environmentally friendly, only by doing this can we save Mother Earth.

The article mentioned about that this is the time for us to save energy and not to consume much. Many celebrities nowadays are trying to be green and use energy-saving products like energy-saving cars called ‘hybrid cars’. For example, President Obama is using this type of car.

The car may be too expensive for most of us. But it doesn’t mean that we do not have to take actions to protect our world and get green. Some times before there was a program urging people in all parts of the world to turn off lights for around an hour. Meaningful programs like this should always be held to raise our attention towards the seriousness of the matter.

Recycling and reusing plastic bags would definitely do well to planet Earth. Sometimes we just buy very little things from store, there’s no point and not green for us to get a big plastic bag and throw it away immediate after using it once. Please reuse, reduce and recycle.

There are many important things and matters that we would like to mark down every day. We use up loads of papers EVERY DAY! So whenever we use a sheet of paper, please think and try to use both sides of it. When doing wrappings for gifts, also use less wrapping papers. Be green! These save the world, and save your purse!

Many people and corporations have a habit of posting cards to friends and clients during festival times. Paper cards can be very sweet, but they are not green. Now we have a better choice, we can send e-cards to our friends and clients in a vast amount and can still be ‘very green’.

So why not try to send E-cards which are as sweet as paper cards! This is very sweet to send love messages and for companies, it is an effective and green way for promotion! Some websites help you out by letting you draw your own cards!

Earth is ours, so if you don’t want your off springs to be threatened by the ‘end’ of Earth, please conserve the world for yourselves, and for them! Be smart, be green!
