In this day and age when people have begun to go green and think about the environment, we often hear the words carbon offsetting, knowing that it may be good for Earth but not actually having any thought on what it does. Carbon offsetting, to put it plainly, is a means of balancing out carbon emissions companies make by supporting eco-friendly projects that eliminate those gases.

Our current society faces big problems concerning carbon emissions. Because of this, there is a common sense of urging among the governments of the world to do something about it. The increase in levels of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere, specifically CO2, is attributed mostly to large-scale industrialization. Since the mid-1700s, huge factories, using machines that ran on fossil fuels, have spewed their emissions into our air. Over time, this continuous accumulation of CO2 dioxide has contributed to what is known today as Worldwide Warming. Aside from the burning of fossil fuels, the systematic clearing of forests to make way for more factories and various other human structures has also added to the increase of CO2 dioxide in the atmosphere.
