Although shredding machines are used to reduce materials such as plastic, metal, and wood, into recyclable materials, the primary reason shredding machines are used is for the destruction of large volumes of paper. Paper recycling is important for the environment because it takes less energy to make paper products from recycled materials which means a smaller carbon footprint.
