Solar energy is the most available source of energy on earth. The sun does give us more than heat and light. The sun is the single largest factor controlling every living beings stay on the earth. Solar energy is green. This means that you can make power for your home without using any other type of fuel. Even more important, you do not release any harmful gases or substances into the atmosphere when you make solar power at home.

The cheapest solution out of all the alternative energy solutions available on the market today is solar power. What can be cheaper than converting light from the ultimate free source, the sun, into energy you can use to power your home? If you make your own solar power system at home and install it yourself, you can recover your initial costs in less than a year.

You can store solar power: The big power corporations do not allow you to store the power they send to your home but you can store your own power with solar. Even in the dark or during a complete black out in your area, your power will stay on because you stored your power during the day in what is called a battery bank.

Solar power systems have low maintenance costs and are easy peasy lemon squeezy to maintain. There is just not that many components to a solar power system that you have to worry about.

How can we start using solar power? Solar energy can be used in our everyday lives by using the following solar power systems:

Solar oven cooking: Did you know you can cook without using a fire or electricity? You can! The device is called a solar oven. You can roast, boil, or bake with a solar oven. The only downside is that it does take a little longer to heat up but you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you cooked a meal without paying your gas or electricity company a penny!

Solar power system: You can use all the appliances in your home and leave all your lights on whenever you want without having to pay anything extra. Some people think that a solar power energy system only works at night but that is not true. Your solar panels produce energy during the day that is stored in a battery bank that can be used to power everything at night.

Solar heat system: You can heat your house during the cold months with a solar heater. You can even heat your water with it without having to worry about any energy costs.

Buying a home water purifier can be extremely confusing these days. This is because of the wide variety of brands, and prices that you will come across can make it very confusing as to what is the best one for your home. The hard part will be trying to figure out what the difference is between a $40 system, and a system that is $800.

The first thing I’ll start with saying, is that you do not need Japanese rocks. If you have heard the claims that have been made by the company, they are unverifiable.

There are a lot of different things that can contaminate your fresh water supply. Truth is that these names are commonly found in fertilizer for lawn care experts, and chemicals for farming crops.

In recent news stories, we were informed that prescription drugs were found in tested supplies around the country. We were also informed that facilities are not required to publish the results of these tests. They believe that the public would not understand the results and might overreact. The only action that is necessary is to install a filter on your kitchen sink that will remove these drugs.

There is another type of contaminant that has been found in water is actually caused by the treatment methods themselves. The chemicals that have been used for disinfecting cause the formation of cancer causing compounds known as THMs or trihalomethanes.

The best home water purifiers and filters are certified to remove THMs. The inexpensive brands sold in department stores and on HSN reduce chlorine, but do nothing to remove THMs and where there is chlorine, there are high levels of THMs.

As you can see making sure that you safeguard your water supply is very important and you need to do everything you can these days to protect your health. The best thing for you to do is to make sure that you do your research, find out whats in your water, and get the best filtering system you can for your home.

Transitioning Alternative Energy

Our planet has been very abundant in offering us renewable sources of energy for our needs and providing alternative energy in many different forms. Many corners of the earth have used renewable power in one way or another but usually just where mechanical electricity, powered by petroleum, was not readily available.

The sun, wind and properties of the earth itself, will never cease to feed us the energy that we crave but we have to be willing to develop, store and generate its current form into usable power for our use. With our fossil fuel supply now being depleted, a serious approach is being taken to transitioning into alternative energy sources.

Generating energy from alternative fuels is not difficult especially when you consider the steps that have been taken during the last century to turn fossil fuels into crude, then further refining into different types of gas, diesel and petroleum blends. Now that whole process has to have taken some work not to mention costing millions of dollars!

The transition to move towards a new form of energy is not well known to most people. However, such steps are needed when it comes to improving the condition of the world. For example, the development of alternative fuels can work wonders to slow down climate change.

One example of a renewable fuel and the price tag involved is solar electricity. The cost of purchasing all of the solar equipment is still more expensive than our present mechanically generated power. This is one of the changes that we have to learn to bear in transitioning into alternative energy. It is impossible to just stop using petroleum-based energy and replace it with solar or wind power overnight. There are going to be many changes and expenses for everyone to bear.

Generating electricity is basically identical to what it was when it was originally discovered in the early 19th century by a British scientist named Michael Faraday. Seven different methods of changing energy into electrical energy exist and the most common would be an electromagnetic induction process that involves transforming kinetic energy into electrical power. Can we switch to other methods? It is possible but it will take a great deal of time.

Photovoltaic technology has been moving at a quicker speed than in the past. The problem with photovoltaic solar panels is that the cost is much higher than mechanically generated power. Capacity is now growing, by a leaping 40%, being led by such areas as Germany, Japan, California and New Jersey. Hopefully, within the next few years, the market will expand to turn this situation around to where solar power is more feasible than petroleum.

There will always be better methods associated with creating new sources of power. These developments will come after looking over both our past mistakes and wise decisions. This will eventually lead to the proper development of alternative energy source that work properly and in a cost effective manner.
